My animal loving story began in my tender years, because as far way as I can remember, I was always surrounded by animals. The Papillon story started back in 2004. Our family Dalmatian, Rolly, has just turned 12 and he started to show his first aging signs. Since I was always out and about, I wanted to have another small, toy sized dog that could go anywhere with me. The search for the perfect breed began. After doing almost a degree in breed compatibility, the big-eared, longhaired sweetheart somehow crept into my mind and slowly into my heart.  

After hefty research and contact with different breeders, Zuzana and her Pompadours have entered my life. The litter of 3 puppies was born in March 2005 and one of them was my beloved Jonathan de Pompadour – Joni. Joni represented everything that I wanted in a dog – his pretty appearance, his great character and his flexibility. With Joni I started to discover so many, until then unknown, areas of owning a dog. The grooming techniques, the shows and its rules, the traveling, the new people that came into our life, all of this captured me and became my lifestyle.  

 It was soon decided that another butterfly should join Joni. Unfortunately the wait was a bit long, but very worth it. In January 2007 another Papillon boy came to live with us, the mischievous Tesoro de Pompadour – Toffee.  Toffee took me on yet a higher level and taught me even more about this wonderful breed. 

As many breeders and lovers say – once you get the Papillon Virus, you can never have just one dog – and this proved to be very true. Where the Papillon Route will take me I cannot say, but I know it is much better to live my life on the wings of my butterflies.
